Denise Riel recipient of the Diocesan Medal of Honour

On Friday, June 5, 2015, the ceremony to award the 2015 Diocesan Medal of Honour took place at the Saint-Jean-l’Évangéliste Cathedral in St-Jean d'Iberville. Thirty-seven people were honoured for their exemplary commitment to the St-Jean-Longueuil Diocese.

Sister Denise Riel was among these recipients. Pastoral animation, the Renew Program, pastoral activities with the Christian community of Trait d’Union, followed by eleven years with the organization Chemins de Vie have all benefited from her numerous talents and her apostolic zeal.

The members of the Province Leadership Team and some of Denise’s Quebec SNJM companions who attended the ceremony were filled with SNJM pride as she was honored with great gratitude by the diocese.

Bishop Lionel Gendron proclaimed Sister Denise Riel as a Member of the Diocesan Order of Merit of Saint-Jean-Longueuil in a complimentary text, summarizing her diligent and diverse commitments in the diocese for many years. (See the attached PDF.)
