The City Garden: it’s sprouting again at Résidence Marie-Rose-Durocher!

The cold and rainy spring was not typical of the weather at this time of year. Although they had to wait a little longer this year to enjoy the pleasures of the warmth of spring, the Sisters at Résidence Marie-Rose-Durocher greatly appreciated the flowering lilacs which brightened up their asphalt yard. They did not need any further encouragement to go outside to tackle the layout of the flower beds between the trees and around the parking lot.

But take heed - when we say flowers we also mean the vegetable garden. Under the supervision of Sister Jeanne Lebeau, a team of volunteer Sisters has set about sowing and planting in the large standing flower box built last year. The "City Garden" season 2 is officially underway as can be seen from these first photos. All that remains now is to wait for the fruit from this meticulous work of taking care of an urban vegetable garden. A “little bird” told us that several Sisters are already salivating at the prospect of soon savoring the various produce from this city garden which was a resounding success last year.  See the photos…
