The SNJMs continue to be partners in the “Portée Pédagogique Series”

The New Program for the “Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil” (OSDL)

For several years now, the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM) have been supporting the "Portée Pédagogique Series". Its main objectives are to introduce young people to the treasury of classical music and to play a role in keeping them in school. Sister Denise Riel, Provincial Animator, participated in the presentation of the program for the 32nd season of the 'Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil', led by Marc David. Knowing the importance of the teaching of music in the history of the Congregation of teachers, it is obvious that the SNJMs would want young people to be educated regarding the contribution of music as well as the importance of learning it; thus echoing the words of Nathalie Pépin, SNJM, "Music is an extraordinary opening to beauty, enabling a direct and accessible expression of everything that we are experiencing, I simply cannot imagine a world without music.”  For more information on the OSDL’s 2017-2018 program, see the press release… (in French only)
