Seven Weeks for Water 2018 Campaign

Since 2008, The World Council of Churches Ecumenical Water Network (WCC-EWN) has been using the Season of Lent to provide weekly theological reflections and other resources on water.

We are reminded that water has great spiritual importance in the Christian tradition as a gift from God.  This scarce resource is threatened in many parts of the world while millions of people are denied access to clean drinking water. This problem is at the heart of the corporate stand taken by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary (SNJM), and formalized in 2013. Bear in mind that access to clean water and quality sanitation facilities has been recognized as a human right since 2010.

See the text for reflection for this 5th Week for Water and the texts already published in the column to the right under “Prayers and Reflections”.
