Water for cities: responding to the urban challenge

Did you know?

  • One of four urban dwellers does not have access to improved sanitation facilities.
  • Every second, the urban population grows by two people.
  • 141 million city dwellers do not have access to fresh water.
  • The situation is dire for the 828 million people who live in the slums and shantytowns.

Is your city water-rich?  If yes, what is being done to share this wealth?  Can you be a voice in this debate?  If your city is water-poor, what challenges are faced?

How can we all be in solidarity on the question of “sharing water”?
