Sex Tourism

Our SNJM Congregation is a member of ‘Regroupement pour la responsabilité sociale des entreprises’(RRSE), a group of religious congregations, organizations and individuals whose goal is to promote social responsibility within companies and enterprises.

At the beginning of May, some members from RRSE met with the directors of Public Affairs and Communications at Transat A.T. Inc. which is one of the largest integrated tourism companies in the world and Canada’s holiday travel leader.  This meeting focused on the efforts being made by Transat regarding the prevention of sexual exploitation of minors in other countries; as well as the next steps that Transat will be undertaking.

The RRSE suggested: that following the in-flight safety instructions, a short video be shown reminding passengers that the sexual exploitation of children is a crime and that Canada has exterritorial laws in this regard.
