Concert in Tribute to Marie-Rose Durocher

The 200th anniversary of the birth of Eulalie Durocher provided an occasion for all kinds of initiatives. And so, thanks to Sister Lucille Potvin, archivist, musical treasures were taken out of the shadows.

On December 10, 2011, 32 SNJM singers, both sisters and associates, under the musical direction of Sister Maryse Moisan and accompanied on the organ by Sister Thérèse Laramée, were proud to pay homage to Mother Marie-Rose, through the interpretation of some works in her honour, works which belong to the SNJM tradition, the majority of which were the work of SNJM Sisters.

From «Louange à la vie apostolique de Mère Marie-Rose», and moving on through «Ma devise», «Rose au cœur de feu», «Où donc vas-tu?» and «Ode de Mère Marie-Rose», the singers reached their peak with «Réjouis-toi, mon âme» and a very moving «Ave Maria». The choir and the soloists really outdid themselves.

The emotion was tangible!
