Volunteer Week from April 15th to April 21st, 2012

Volunteer Week will take place from the 15th to the 21st of April, 2012. The theme this year is “Your presence makes all the difference”. Can you imagine living in a society where the benefits of volunteering are non-existent? Thousands of people, usually the poor and the sick, would be left to fend for themselves with little hope, moral support, or a chance for a better life.

Volunteering makes all the difference between an individualistic society closed in on itself and one that values solidarity and a sense of community. Woven by generous hands into our daily lives, this difference is felt at all levels of society.

Our next campaign aims to recognize the important role—much like that of a link in a chain—that every volunteer plays in the dynamics and development of an inclusive society.

Regardless of the field in which they work, all volunteers who, day after day, extend a helping hand, are united and motivated by the same goal: that of making a difference and contributing to the betterment of our society.
