Around A Common Ministry

Thanks to the collaboration of the Provincial Leadership Team and the participation of the Sisters and Associates of our province, this past February, we experienced some wonderful moments of reflection on our corporate stand against human trafficking.

All of the Sisters and Associates of Quebec were invited to join one of the six groups that met in various local SNJM communities.  These meetings were animated by two members of the ‘Groupe solidarité-justice’. The participation was most satisfying.

Prayer, a DVD concerning human trafficking, a questionnaire and discussion on facts about human trafficking, the signing of postcards to be sent to members of Parliament, acts of commitment, and different types of animation helped us to set out on the path and to reinforce our determination to fight against human trafficking.

Among the examples of the different types of commitment, let us point out a group of Sisters from the Maison Jésus-Marie Infirmary who, in solidarity with our Sisters in the United States, will pray on the first Sunday of each month for the eradication of human trafficking. Another group will pray, on Fridays at the usual time when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, for the victims of human trafficking.

We do the best we can
with what we have and who we are.
