A Surprise Celebration!

At 11:00 a.m. on July 20, 2012, all the vacationers at Val-Morin were invited to meet at the main entrance.

It was a "surprise celebration"!!!

LIETTE PLAYING HER ACCORDION

In no time at all, the space was prepared: decorations, chairs, aperitifs, music and songs.

In the name of the “scaled-down” team, Sister Gabrielle Brunet welcomed everyone and revealed the “surprise-purpose“ of this gathering: to thank Sister Liette Lessard for all of her help for close to a month.

Liette, always in an up-beat mood, enthusiastically worked in the cafeteria, helped with the preparation of the weekly picnic, went on numerous messages into the neighbouring towns and even to Montreal. Gratitude was expressed for Liette’s sense of humour which made people laugh, her enthusiasm, her boundless energy and...her accordion...

The gathering ended with a word of thanks to the other volunteers, best wishes to this year’s Jubilarians,  a game, stories, songs and even some dancing. Delighted with this multi-community gathering, we happily moved on to the substantial meal that was awaiting us.

 Yolande Laberge, S.N.J.M.
