For Love of the Mission

For 30 years, Sister Yolande Frappier has responded to her mission by being a listener to impoverished women, to women in poor living conditions and to people struggling on their human journey.

This mission, which is at the heart of the SNJM charism, has prompted Sister Yolande to respond to the new government requirements of Bill 21. This Bill obliges a number of health care professionals and those in human relations to redefine their field of practice.

Sister Frappier joined the SQPP (société québécoise des psychothérapeutes professionnels [Quebec society of Professional Psychotherapists]) with the aim of obtaining by “fast-track” a permit as a psychotherapist. In February 2012, she was recognized as a titular member of the SQPP.

To meet the requirements of the new Bill, Sister Yolande had to take and pass two courses pertaining to ethics, law and the regulations offered by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec [Quebec Order of Psychologists].

Sister Yolande Frappier successfully completed the required formation. Since October 29, 2012, she is the holder of a licence awarded by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, which permits her to continue to carry out her profession-mission.
