SNJM Celebration of a 105th Birthday

On December 23, 2012, Sister Augustine Bougie joyfully celebrated her 105th birthday.

Wearing a corsage, Sister attended a Eucharistic celebration in the chapel at Maison Jésus-Marie, concelebrated by three priests and she received communion under the both species of bread and wine.

During the Mass she received a blessing from Pope Benedict XVI, a special letter from Bishop Lionel Gendron, Bishop of the Diocese of Saint-Jean-Longueuil as well as congratulations from Mr. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, from the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, and the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, the Honourable Pierre Duchesne.

The Mass was followed by a meal during which her SNJM Sisters wished her “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”  May our dear Sister whose life has been so involved continue living peacefully and happily throughout the rest of her days.  These are the wishes of your Sisters which we offer with all our hearts.
