Bishop Lionel Gendron at the Congregational House

As part of his pastoral visits, Bishop Lionel Gendron, Bishop of the Saint-Jean-Longueuil Diocese, visited us late afternoon on April 22. He celebrated the Eucharist in Mother Marie-Rose’s chapel, had supper with us and then met with us.

Bishop Gendron showed a keen interest in each one’s commitments. Sister Lise Marleau, our local leader, outlined the objective of our community project: Hospitality

The sharing which followed provided a glimpse of the diversity of our services, at various levels: the General Adminstration of Maison Jésus-Marie, the parish, the diocese and the local community.

In an atmosphere of simplicity, warmth and humility, our bishop spoke to us about his vision for the Church and the many challenges to be faced. His great faith in the action of the Spirit is what enables him to move forward in all hope.

His words reflected the Gospel and the message which he left us can be summarized in this way:

Hospitality is an important virtue for our time.
