CHEMINS DE VIE is honored

On June 5, during a solemn celebration at the Saint-Jean Cathedral, the organization Chemins de vie was welcomed into the Diocesan Order of Merit of Saint-Jean-Longueuil. Sister Denise Riel, director, accepted the medal on behalf of the group. Here is an excerpt from the letter sent by Bishop Lionel Gendron, P.S.S.

“It is with joy and gratitude that we wish to underline, in a very special way, the involvement of the Chemins de vie organization in the Saint-Jean-Longueuil Church.

Founded in 2003, Chemins de vie hoped to respond to the expressed desire of a large number of parishes with their plans for evangelization and pastoral animation which had been developed during the diocesan process Demain la paroisse. (…) For more than ten years now, the organization which is well established in Longueuil, has been carrying out its mission to accompany people on their journey of spiritual seeking and growth.

Characterized by its warm and unconditional welcome, Chemins de vie offers its services and various activities which, every year, touches the lives of hundreds of people. It is able to do this through the contribution of a team of thirty men and women volunteers, many of whom are among the founding members.  Undoubtedly, within the plan for a new evangelization, the organization is contributing to the Church’s mission in an original and meaningful way.

So, in recognition of these years of commitment,

we are inaugurating the Chemins de vie organization

as a member of the Diocesan Order of Merit of Saint-Jean-Longueuil.

… We give thanks to God …

We pray that God will bless the people who are working there, as well as those who benefit from their presence and dedication.
