Roshida, 25 years old, from Bangladesh-REUTERS

This meeting was divided into three parts:
1. Three days of reflection at the headquarters of the International Union of Superiors General to consult and coordinate so as to jointly fight prostitution or forced labour,
2. A session of meetings at the Pontifical Academy of Sciences at the Vatican with other representatives from the Church who are committed to fighting against human trafficking,
3. Finally, an opportunity to share experiences with the members of Secular Institutes who were gathered in Rome to participate in the closing meeting for the Year of Consecrated Life.

 

 


Last February, on the occasion of the First Day of Prayer and Reflection against Trafficking in Persons, Pope Francis had called on government officials to "make every effort to eradicate the causes of this shameful scourge unworthy of a civil society. "
