The town of Nazareth (Galilee), in Israel, will host the main celebration of the XXIV World Day of the Sick on February 11, 2016. It is known as the town of the Holy Family, and the Grotto of the Annunciation is housed there in the large basilica. (Basilica of the Annunciation)
It has as its theme the Wedding at Cana with the title: "Entrusting Oneself to the Merciful Jesus like Mary", a theme which is in the context of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.
The Pope’s message for this XXIV World Day of the Sick was presented at the Vatican on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
