Be merciful!
On World Mission Sunday, we unite ourselves to the whole Church as we live out the final weeks of the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.
The Sisters from Maison Jésus-Marie and a few companions from Résidences Ste-Émélie and Marie-Rose Durocher fully understood this message from Pope Francis. They combined their talents to bring warmth to street people, the children of Doctor Julien, premature babies at Sainte-Justine’s Hospital, and immigrants and young people from Lesotho.
How touching to see all these “fairy fingers” knitting hats of different shapes and colors, scarves, mittens, socks, slippers, and small and large sweaters. Added to this, are the 9 by 9 inch squares that Sister Gisèle Foucreault’s young students in Lesotho will use to make their own woolen blankets and ponchos.
