“Maison de la Culture Marie-Rose Durocher” Vernissage

Organisateurs et invités au vernissage

A private viewing of an exhibition titled “Eulalie Durocher” took place at St. Antoine-sur-Richelieu, on September 18th.  In the context of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Eulalie Durocher (Mother Marie-Rose), the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, (in particular the Marie-Rose Centre) as well as the Historical Society of St. Antoine, combined their efforts to honour one of their own who saw the light of day on the shores of the Richelieu, and who later on, accomplished an admirable educational project in Longueuil.

Commenting on the various paintings and artefacts lent by the Congregation, Sister Jocelyn Latreille, general councillor, expressed the deep interest in the arts that characterized the beginnings of the foundation.  This is an important dimension of the integral human formation which students of Collège Durocher St. Lambert demonstrated by their own visual arts exhibit located on the upper floor of the Maison de la Culture.
