A Joyful Visit by the Congregational Leadership Team

Sister Catherine Ferguson, our new Superior General, has been visiting the Sisters of Quebec. We had expressed a desire to receive all of the members of the Congregational Leadership Team...and the wish was granted!

On March 21st, Marie-Rose-Durocher Residence received Sister Catherine Ferguson (US-Ontario), Sister Emma Bézaire (US-Ontario), Sister Lise Gagnon (Mission Sector) and Sister Bathilda Heqoa (Lesotho). How fortunate we felt.

We welcomed our visitors at the main door and then made our way to the chapel. After a word of welcome, we wholeheartedly sang “Blessed be your Name, Jesus; it is you who gathers us!”. We then moved on to three different locations where each group was able to give a brief overview of their life experiences: congenial contact in the small groups was an occasion for us to get to know each other.

The community gathered in the cafeteria for a festive supper with their guests. The sharing at table provided time for conversation with a member of the General Leadership Team they had not met before supper. Visiting the house in small groups completed the visit and when the time came for them to leave, there was a strong feeling of “Come back soon!” Sister Catherine promised to do so.
