Second Green Church Conference

The 2nd Green Church Conference just guaranteed a high profile by confirming the presence of the ecologist, Steven Guilbeault.  A prominent figure in ecology in Quebec, the co-founder and spokesperson for Équiterre,  http://equiterre.org/en will be one of the speakers during this event which will take place in the autumn.

"We are delighted that M. Steven Guilbeault will come to 'preach' an ecological speech which will be motivating to Churches which, more and more, are contributing to the ecological movement and are undertaking concrete actions», said Norman Lévesque, program director for 'Eglise verte', in a press release.

He also confirmed the presence of Sister Esther Champagne, president of the "Regroupement pour la responsabilité sociale des entreprises". About 200 people are expected to attend the 2nd "Colloque des Églises vertes" on October 16 in Drummondville.

This event is a follow-up to the 1st Green Church Conference which took place in Montreal on February 9, 2010, and in which approximately 150 people from different faiths took part.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Because of its geographical position, this year's conference will be held in French only.
