The trafficking of women and children

La femme brisée

Since the taking of the corporate stand, in 2005, against the trafficking of women and children, the SNJM’s continue to be involved, for example, by sending postcards to the federal government demanding concrete actions to stop trafficking.  We are now undertaking the second step: “Stop the Demand for the trafficking of women and children.”  Unanima International has provided documents that have created a lot of interest among the local communities in Quebec.

The photo, entitled “The Torn Woman” has provoked profound discussions on abuse and the acts of violence that many victims of trafficking have been subjected to.  It is of paramount importance that everyone, especially school-aged adolescents, boys and girls, be made aware of the devastation caused to women and young girls.  For further information, a theological reflection document is available on this topic.
