“Opening doors onto LIFE to keep the SNJM mission forever alive!”

The birthday celebration of the SNJM Sisters and Associates of Quebec on February 18 provided an ideal opportunity for presenting the Chapter Acts of the 34th General Chapter of the Congregation. Received and perceived as a meaningful gift, this booklet filled with hope, carries an inspiring invitation with this vital theme “OPEN WIDE OUR DOORS”.

The Acts, which are the results of the preparation for the Chapter by all the Sisters and Associates, contain the responses to the changing needs of the Congregation and the world which were discerned by the participants during the Chapter in the summer of 2016. The General Chapter, held every five years, is in the form of a large congress which takes place over several weeks.

Calls to open doors onto Life

“During this post-chapter time, we are invited to continue the adventure with the Spirit”, stated Sister Denise Riel, Provincial Animator, during her talk prior to the official distribution. “The Chapter Acts burst forth with calls to open doors onto Life and provide us with the vitality to keep the SNJM Mission alive to the end. What a beautiful birthday gift!”, she enthusiastically added.

Edited by members of the Congregational Leadership Team, this booklet is accompanied by a letter promoting openness, welcoming and collaborative work. "Together, may we acknowledge that God is here, very close to the door. Let us open wide the doors of our hearts. Let us open them to others and to the world."
