Beatification by Pope Jean-Paul II

Rome, May 23, 1982

Jonh Paul II beatified Mother Marie-Rose under the name of Marie-Rose Durocher.

Declaring Marie-Rose blessed
was to light a “flame of hope”
for the whole world.

It was to revive the image of a woman loved by God
who was completely committed
to a spirituality solidly based on love.

It was to highlight the features
of a person totally fulfilled,
capable of discernment and daring courage.

It was the affirmation of the authenticity
of a charism and of a mission
which was destined to transform the society of the day.

It was to recognize the value of a heritage
which still expresses itself
through networks of solidarity and interdependence.
