Stations of the Cross, Picnic and Planning the Year: News from In Her Footsteps Associate Group

On Saturday, September 10, the members of In Her Footsteps Associate Group prayed the Stations of the Cross in the peaceful and beautiful woods at Chapelle de la Réparation in Pointe-aux-Trembles.  Sisters Teresa Burgess and Lorna Cooney joined them, along with a few friends from St. Brendan’s Parish.  Pope Francis’ 2015 text of the Way of the Cross, “The Cross, Radiant Culmination of God’s Protective Love” was the rich resource for their prayer. Singing a short refrain, “No Greater Love,” as they walked from station to station, they reflected on Jesus’ thoughts and feelings during His passion and brought to mind and prayer the sufferings of people in our times, near and far.

This time of prolonged prayer on a warm September morning was followed by a healthy and delicious picnic lunch prepared by Lulu and Bernie Laxa who did not forget a single thing, even table cloths!

After lunch, the group proceeded to plan the activities and meetings of their group for this coming year.

A year well begun!
