"Harpissimo Québec" highlights its 20 year anniversary with a new concert

Since their visit to Maison Jésus-Marie last April, Harpissimo Ensemble, which has as its mission to promote traditional harps in Quebec, has had an especially busy schedule. In celebrating their 20 year anniversary, the group was not unfamiliar with this flurry of activity, which first led them to prepare a new musical program.

Under the direction of Robin Grenon, the "Quebec Harpissimo Ensemble" presented a number of concerts in Quebec, but also in the United States, with a tour in the Cleveland, Ohio area, to accompany the Musical Company "La Nef de Montréal".

Before heading back to perform numerous other concerts in the upcoming months, the group came to Maison Jésus-Marie to present their new musical program based on their 20 years. This program was designed to highlight the most beautiful melodies from the three CDs produced to date, the most recent being "Le chant des cordes" in 2015.

Filming in the Maison Jésus-Marie chapel

The group had another good reason to return to the SNJM’s at the beginning of autumn. The ensemble, dedicated to traditional harps, wanted to show the video of their 20 years which was filmed last July at Maison Jésus-Marie.
Well-known for its great acoustic qualities, the chapel at Maison Jésus-Marie was in fact the theatre for the filming of this very successful video.
