SNJM Associates: Initial Commitment and Renewal of Promises

October 19, 2008

Lorraine Bouchard, Marylrose group, Elinor Gallagher and Beverly Redmond, Richelieu Rose group, made their initial commitment of one year, as SNJM Associates during a Eucharistic celebration, in the Chapel of the Congregational House in Longueuil, QC.

Sister Rachel Fréchette, Provincial Coordinator, received their promises “to live the charism of the Congregation, to embrace the Acts of the General Chapter that touch the lives of Associates, to deepen their personal relationship with God and to serve in whatever capacity they are called. Sister Rachel also presented each one with a medal of Mother Marie-Rose. The Sisters warmly welcomed the Associates with the words: “We too, welcome you.  We will be united in prayer with you and with all our associates as together we follow in the footsteps of Blessed Marie-Rose Durocher.”

The other Associates present then renewed their annual commitment.

Fr. Lawrence MacEachen, pastor of St. Malachy’s Parish, was the presider and homelist.   Sr. Lorna Cooney, SNJM directed the singing accompanied by Richard and Brenda Brisebois, Associates.

Following the ceremony, there was a wonderful reception with delicious refreshments.  Conversation and re-connecting with each other was a fitting way to strengthen the bonds of the 3 groups of Associates.
