Last week we highlighted the anniversary of the birth of the patroness of Bienheureuse-Marie-Rose-Durocher Parish. Here is a segment of the text which was read at the celebrations on October 8th and 9th.
In the parish, we hope to keep the inspiration of Mother Marie-Rose alive and relevant by being attentive: to new Quebecers, to youth, to families, to those who are mourning, to the elderly, to the sick and to those who are living in poverty.
We hope to keep the inspiration of Mother Marie-Rose alive and relevant through the following projects: puppet shows, Earth Day activities, activities within the framework of March 8th, theatre, and brunches for dialogue.
We hope to keep the inspiration of Mother Marie-Rose alive and relevant by working with: the committee to welcome new Quebecers, the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul Society, Development and Peace, the Corporation for Community Development of Longueuil, the local "Table de Vie", the CLSC and several other community organizations.
May we, as parishioners, be permeated with Jesus’ spirit of openness, and like Marie-Rose, say yes to God’s invitation and work for the coming of his Kingdom with people of every language, race, culture, age, social class and religion.
